Expectations High for Conservatory Market

Expectations are strong for the conservatory market according to the March 2004 monthly index sponsored by Global Conservatory Roof System.

Sales: Sales of conservatories increased in February compared with January with a net 60% of conservatory fabricators and installers reporting increased sales. Year-on-year sales were also up with a net 34% of conservatory fabricators reporting increases compared with the same time last year.

Forecasts: Sales expectations for March compared with February are strong with a net 60% of firms forecasting growth. Year-on-year expectations are also high with a net 48% of fabricators forecasting sales increases.

The average value of a conservatory installed in February was £6005 excluding VAT, bases and dwarf walls. This was down 6% from January.

An addition to the Conservatory Quarterly Trends Survey, which is published in Conservatory Design & Build and sponsored by Global Conservatory Roof System, the monthly tracker survey covers a representative sample of 50 conservatory fabricators who also install.
