Conservatory Sales Forecasts Bounce Back

A balance of 10% (the difference between 32% who sold more and 22% who sold less) of conservatory fabricators reported better sales in January 2007 compared with December 2006 in the Monthly Index sponsored by Eurocell Profiles Ltd. Large firms (net 20%) did slightly better then mid-sized (13%) and small companies (6%). Firms in the Midlands (net 31%) and South (15%) experienced growth, but for 12% of those in the South sales dropped.
A net 34% of fabricators also sold more conservatories in January 2007 compared with January 2006 (see chart). Large firms (net 60%) did best but small (36%) and mid-sized firms (20%) also improved. Those in the Midlands (net 54%) and South (40%) did better than firms in the North (11%).

Forecasts:
On balance, two thirds of fabricators expect to sell more conservatories in February 2007 compared with January 2007. A balance of 54% of fabricators expect to sell more compared with the same month last year (see chart).
A balance of 44% of fabricators are more confident now about the overall prospects for the conservatory market than three months ago. Mid-sized firms (net 67%) are more optimistic than large (40%) or small firms (33%). Fabricators in the Midlands (net 77%) are most optimistic, but those in the North (41%) and South (25%) are also positive.
